Portable Appliance Testing
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires that “all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger”.
The Workplace (Health & Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 requires that workplace equipment and systems are maintained. The IEE Code of Practise (3rd Edition) set out guidance on the initial frequency of testing. The Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994 require that Landlords supplying electrical equipment as part of the lease must ensure it is safe before a lease commences.

- City & Guilds 2377 qualified personnel
- Testing in accordance with IEE Code of Practise (3rd Edition)
- Risk based assessment of results allowing you to reduce the amount of testing and hence costs
- Free replacement fuses and BS1363 plugs

Fixed Electrical Wiring
As well as the above mentioned regulations, The Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 also requires landlords “to keep in repair and proper working order the installations in the dwelling-house for the supply of water, gas and electricity.”

Emergency Lighting Testing and Installation
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 section 14 (h) requires that “emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting.” Lighting designed and installed to BS 5266 will meet this requirement.

- Periodic Testing and Certification of emergency lighting in accordance with BS 5266 and the 17th Edition BS 7671:2008
Noise Level Survey
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 state “An employer who carries out work which is liable to expose any employees to noise at or above a lower exposure action value shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk from that noise to the health and safety of those employees, and the risk assessment shall identify the measures which need to be taken to meet the requirements of these Regulations”

Lighting Surveys
The workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 specify that
“Every workplace shall have suitable and sufficient lighting suitable…and sufficient emergency lighting shall be provided in any room in circumstances in which persons at work are specially exposed to danger in the event of failure of artificial lighting”

Design & Installation of Cost Effective Solutions to Disability Regulations
Part M Building Regulations of the building regulations require new non-domestic schemes and major extensions are fully disabled accessible and that disabled persons facilities are provided including:
- Access to and use of new buildings
- Access to extensions to buildings other than dwellings
- Sanitary conveniences in extensions to buildings other than dwellings
Existing non-domestic buildings undergoing an extension, a material alteration or a material change of use will have to make reasonable provision in compliance with Building Regulations Part M.
