Emergency Lighting

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 section 14 (h) requires that “emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting.”

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 Regulation 8 requires “suitable and sufficient emergency lighting shall be provided in any room in circumstances in which persons at work are specially exposed to danger in the event of failure of artificial lighting.”

PAT Testing

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 & The Workplace (Health & Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require that workplace equipment and systems are maintained. The Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994 also require that Landlords supplying electrical equipment as part of the lease must ensure it is safe before a lease commences.

  • Testing to IEE Code of Practice (5th Edition) by City & Guilds 2377 qualified personnel
  • Risk based assessment for ongoing testing – reducing the amount of testing and hence costs
  • Microwave leakage testing
